Daniel Cook is currently serving his first year as Director of Bands at DeLand High School, having moved from Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Cook graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelor of Music degree in music education from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. While at UGA, he played piano, trumpet, and studied conducting with Dr. John Lynch. Mr. Cook performed with the the Redcoat Marching Band and numerous concert bands on multiple instruments. Most recently, Mr. Cook performed with the University of Georgia Wind Ensemble on a concert tour in Argentina. He is also an advocate of the marching arts, and alumnus of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Cook's professional affiliations include the Music Educators National Conference, the National Band Association, Kappa Kappa Psi, and most recently, the Florida Music Educators Association and Florida Bandmasters Association.
