July 26-29 – Uniform Fittings

July 26, 6-8pm - Seniors

July 27, 6-8pm - Juniors

July 28, 6-8pm – Sophomores

Freshmen to be fit after pre-camp on Thursday.


July 30 – Leadership Seminar (Officers only)

8am – Doors open

9am - 12:30pm – Morning session

12:30pm-1:30pm – Lunch

1:30pm – 4pm Afternoon session


July 31, August 1 – Pre-Camp for New Members, Auxiliaries, Percussion, Officers

8am – Doors open

9am – Auxiliaries start in cafe

10am – New band members and officers together, morning session in gym

12pm – Lunch

1pm – Music sectionals led by officers. Percussion and auxiliaries continue from morning

3pm – All winds together in band room

4pm – Winds and percussion dismissed

4:30 – 5pm – Uniforms issued to freshmen (Thursday only)

5pm – Auxiliaries dismissed

August 1 only – 4:30pm – dinner hosted by officers for new members


Band Camp Week 1 (August 4 – August 8)

Monday only – doors open at 7am, check in, block setting, logistics at 8am.

Tuesday – Friday – 8am – Doors open daily

9am – Morning session outside

11:30am – Lunch

12:30pm – Music sectionals inside – bring snacks for downtime

3pm – Ensemble (inside or outside depending on our progress)

5pm – Monday only – meeting for all students and parents in auditorium

5pm – Monday only – Scott White from Music Shack sets up shop in the band room for flip folders, lyres, reeds, cases, etc.


Band Camp Week 2 (August 11-14)

7:30am – Doors open daily

8am – Morning session outside

11:30am – Lunch

12:30pm – Music sectionals inside – bring snacks for downtime

3pm – Ensemble (inside or outside depending on our progress)

6pm – Dismissed

Monday only – Chris Ball from Sunshine Band Accessories visits for marching shoe fitting/orders


Preview Performance (August 15)

7:30am – Doors open daily

8am – Morning session outside

12pm – Dismissed

3pm – Begin arriving for individual and group pictures with Simoneau Photography

6pm – Preview Performance!

6:30pm – Pot Luck Dinner with all parents, friends, and students

August 1 – Freshmen Friday (wear school spirited wear, DHS, class of ’18, etc.)


August 4 – Crazy Sock Monday

August 5 – Tie Dye Tuesday

August 6 – Silly Hat Wednesday

August 7 – Twin Day Thursday (you and a friend dress identically)

August 8 – Farm Friday (dress like animals)


August 11 – Mix and Match Monday (wear awful combinations of colors or clothes together)

August 12 – Tie Dye Tuesday (Part Two)

August 13 – Section Hype Day (your section dresses together… pirates, ninjas, superheroes, etc.)

August 14 – Throwback Thursday (wear your favorite ‘old’ style, event, or club apparel)

August 15 – White Out Friday 


After Camp Group Activities

July 31 – Thirsty Thursday – after camp day, meet up at Racetrac for slushies

August 1 – Freshmen Friday – welcome dinner sponsored by officers for new members

August 4 – Ice (Cream) Breaker – Celebrate the end of the first camp day with ice cream

Other after camp activities under Helena/Maria’s leadership may include: Pool Night at YMCA, Movie Night, Skating, Bowling, Group Dinners.
